Barry Lee Penrod lost his life while vacationing in Florida due to a drowning. It was his life’s dream to go to the Florida Keys. He spent several weeks in the ICU at Jackson South Medical Center. It was his wishes to become an organ donor, on June 20, 2022, Barry was given the “Walk of Honor” being escorted to the surgical center to provide a better life to several organ donor recipients.
Barry Lee Penrod (“Punkin”, “Taz” ) 49 was born on August 28, 1972, to Barry Wood Penrod and Shirley Gray in Greenville Ky. Barry was preceded in death by his Mother Shirley Gray, His Father Barry Wood Penrod, and a daughter by choice Brooke Nutt. Barry Lee leaves Behind a Loving Wife, Sarah A Penrod, and Mother, Kathleen Penrod. Siblings , Justin Penrod, 31 (Ashley), Chad Penrod, 44 and nephew Ethan, 15
In addition, he leaves 8 children, Christina, 30 (Chris), Alissa, 27, Megan, 23, Mandilynn, 21 (Derrick) Abigail, 19 (Jathan), Frankie 16, Derek, 9, and Tobias, 5: and 10 grandchildren, Braxton 12, Kimber 10, Skylynn 9, McKenna 6, Kinsley 8, Keegan 5, Kyara 3, Elijah 1. And three grandchildren by choice, Byron 11, Hunter 9, Joshua 2.
Barry was a very loving man who touched many lives with compassion, support, and Love. He was a constant inspiration and influence to his children and grandchildren. He was funny, and a prankster who loves to make others smile. He followed in the footsteps of his father becoming a talented woodworker and mechanic who loved tinkering with his tools and fixing and creating things. His hobbies were collecting and shooting guns, fishing, and hunting.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family to assist with daily needs and his memorial at this time.
