Frank Marcy, Jr. (1929-2024)
It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of our beloved father Frank Marcy, Jr., of Carteret, NJ, at the young age of 94, on January 5, 2024. Our dad was a respected Air Force veteran, he served his country during the Korean War with honor and pride, as a skilled draftsman. Our father continued to use his drafting skills throughout his life writing beautifully helping us with our school projects and leaving us notes in his stylish and perfect handwriting. Dad would never lets us go to bed scared and would make sure we felt safe, even after watching Dracula!
Frank was known for his profound love for cats, he could always be found calling the cats in for food, applying ointment when they had a scratch. If there were any animals in peril, our dad could be relied upon to fix the situation with loving kindness. His gentle nature and kind spirit will be remembered by all who knew him and especially by us, his daughters.
Predeceased by his parents Anna and Frank and his beloved sister Betty, Frank leaves behind a legacy of joy, a life well-lived and an enormity of fond memories. He is survived by his adult daughters, Shawn and Vanessa, who will miss him dearly and forever recount the positive impact he made in their life. Frank was a also grandfather to five granddaughters, Stephanie, Meagan, Shannon, Samantha, Sierra and one grandson Robie, he was also a great-grandfather to three great-granddaughters, Miranda, Ella and Leila and one great-grandson, Eli. He was a fun and entertaining grandfather adoring each of his grand children and great children, attending events, birthday parties, weddings throughout his decades of life. He had shrines of pictures throughout his home as a reminder of his love for his family.
Our father’s hobbies included golfing, watching football and other sports, smoking cigars, watching the dogs run, horse races and playing penny slots at his favorite local casino. If you ever pass a penny slot machine toss a few pennies in for Frank! After all, pennies are from heaven, where he now resides.
A memorial service is being postponed at this time and a celebration of life planned for a future date allowing for family and close friends an opportunity to be involved. In lieu of flowers, we are requesting acts of kindness be extended to animals, especially cats, monetary donations to your local sanctuary, feeding of stray cats, visiting cat cafes, donating used linens to animal shelters or pet adoption in Frank's honor.
Our daddy’s life was a testament to silent strength, deep compassion, unwavering love and most of all faith. He will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
