Kelly Joann Todd departed this life on Thursday, February 25, 2021. The daughter of the late Bennie Doyle Todd, Sr. and Betty Joann Gore. She was born in Montgomery, Alabama on November 30, 1960.
Kelly deeply cherished her family and she will forever live in the hearts of those left to hold her memories dear: sister, Karen Slawson (Thomas), brother, Bennie Todd, Jr. (Cheryl); very much loved nieces and nephews, Brandon Slawson (Nikki), Tiffany Slawson (Travis Gantlin), Jalen Slawson, Morgan Todd, Brooke Todd; great nieces and nephews: Jordan Slawson, Jonathan Slawson, Joseph Slawson, Legend Gantlin, and Carson LeBlanc; and her much beloved puppy, Skye. She also leaves behind some very dear friends. Most special of these are Michelle Wilson, Lynn Brown, Ali Simpson, Mary O’Brien and Toni Trend.
Beyond what she gave to family and dear friends, Kelly lived a life of service to all. Working as an EMT/Firefighter/Paramedic, and later returning to school to become a Physicians Assistant. Her belongings are replete with letters from patients and patient’s families detailing the loving, sensitive care they or their family members received from Kelly.
Her service didn’t just extend to work, as Kelly went about her day trying to help others. Aside from caring for and spoiling her family, she had a deep caring for the homeless and often sought them out to deliver food kits or money. Kelly was a great lover of animals and Disney and a ferocious defender of the underdog. She will be deeply missed.
