Coral Springs, FL and Bucksport/Orland, ME – Mark L. Pelletier, 64, son of Carroll and Caroline Pelletier, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2024 after a brief illness.
Mark graduated from Bucksport High School with the Class of 1978 and then went on to EMVTI to pursue his interest in becoming a chef. His greatest love, pride and joy was being a top-rated chef which took him on travels to resorts, private country clubs, golf course clubhouses, and five-star restaurants in Michigan, Hawaii, Florida, and Maine. He worked for many years at a French-cuisine restaurant in Florida and was referred to as “The Cat Whisperer” and considered a member of their family. He certainly acquired many friendships through his work and is being missed by all.
His other greatest loves in life were his partner of 27 years, Darlene Rathbun, and two sons, Kevin and Justin with partner Jordan. Mark is predeceased by his parents, Carroll and Carolyn and brother Charlie. He is survived by sisters Kathy and Mike Harriman of Bucksport, ME Rhonda (Allen) and Kirk Dalhgren of Detroit, ME and brothers Mike and Dolores of Hobe Sound, FL and Orland, ME and Dave and Michaela of Orland, ME as well as many nieces/nephews.
A private celebration of his life and burial will be held in the Spring with family members.
