Ronald “Ron” George Pheifer, Jr., 60, of Pompano Beach, FL passed away unexpectedly on March 28, 2021, surrounded by family.
Ron was born on March 24th 1961 in Chicago Ridge, IL, to Ronald G. Pheifer and Janice Diane (Nee) Hensley. He relocated to Florida at the age of 19.
While living in the Florida Keys, he learned architectural millwork and started the Florida Keys Box Company which specialized in handmade fly-fishing boxes. These custom boxes were sold around the world and are still coveted today.
In 1997, he and his wife Crystal relocated to Pompano Beach, Florida where they opened Pheifer’s Cabinet Designs, a business specializing in Florida Keys Hardwoods.
Ron enjoyed fishing, boating, and working with his hands. He also loved laughing and spending time with his best friend and wife Crystal, and his many friends and family. He treasured spending time with his constant companion Dezi, his 13-year-old Yorkie/Shih Tzu pup.
He is survived by his wife, Crystal Anne Pheifer née Taylor (formerly of Wellsburg, WV); his son Nicolas Moravec (Megan)of Mokena, IL; two sisters, Angela Ward (Mike) of Indian Harbor Beach, FL and Diane (Randy) Brown of Cocoa, FL; grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his parents.
